Moving office: Your office space options
Unhappy with your current office space, you’ve decided to move office but where do you start? Well, after deciding which area you want to move to, it’s a good idea to weigh up your office space options.
Budget, up-market, functional or obscure; whatever your business tastes, there’s sure to be an office space option out there to suit you. The type of office space you’ll need ultimately depends on your needs and your moving office budget. Below you’ll find a quick guide to the general office space options on the market today, which should help you to decide on a key office option to search for in anticipation of your office move.
Conventional office space:
Conventional office space is also known as “managed office space” and “traditional office space” and, as the name suggests, is more of a traditional office option. When you rent conventional office space all you’ll get is the floor space – you need to buy the rest yourself. Your monthly bill doesn’t include key business resources like electricity and internet so you’ll need to arrange these yourselves. Although this might not sound like the most attractive modern office option, it does give you a lot of freedom to set up the office you want, in terms of design and lay-out.
Business centres:
Business centres offer serviced office space in a building designed entirely for business use. Unlike other office space options, business centres are usually situated on the outskirts of major cities and thus have much lower rental rates. Business centres are a great budget option for growing businesses or new businesses which need to watch the pennies.
Cubicle space/workstation space:
Cubicle space or workstation space is simply a cubicle or a desk which is available to rent. This is a good option for anyone who is not looking to rent a full office or anyone nervous about moving to a new location. Cubicle space can give you the chance to test a new business location before committing to a full office move.
Virtual office:
A virtual office is not actually a physical office. Instead it’s a service offered for businesses which would like an office in a prestigious location but can simply not afford it. The idea of a virtual office is fairly simple – pay your monthly fee and in return you’ll receive a high profile address, mail handling services and call handling. Virtual offices are a great option for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses looking to get ahead in a competitive industry.
